Andrew Margenot is an associate professor and soil scientist at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He leads a research team evaluating the biogeochemical mechanisms that underpin soil functions in cropping systems, with a focus on nutrient cycling, fertilizer-use efficiency, and reductions in nutrient loss in the US Midwest.
Andrew serves as Director of the Morrow Plots, the second-oldest continuous agricultural experiment in the world, and the newly established Alma Mater Plots experiment. He is also Editor in Chief at Geoderma and Associate Editor at Plant and Soil and European Journal of Soil Science.
