Kaiyu Guan

BIOGRAPHY

Kaiyu Guan is the Levenick ACES Professor, Blue Waters Professor for Supercomputing, and Founding Director of the Agroecosystem Sustainability Center at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He is also the Chief Scientist for the NASA Acres Program. His research group uses computational models, satellite data, field work, and artificial intelligence to address how climate and human practices affect crop productivity, water resource availability, and ecosystem functioning.

Kaiyu has published over 160 papers in leading scientific journals and is the recipient of the AGU James Macelwane Medal, NSF CAREER Award, and NASA New Investigator Award.
